Today's charity shop bargains

The Portobello Road oxfam shop turned up trumps with a BOGOF sale on DVD boxed sets. I got Star Trek: The Next Generation seasons 2,3,4,6 and 7, and Band of Brothers (the set in a tin box), all marked at £4.99 so I ended up paying £14.97 for the lot!

The Star Trek DVDs are in thick CD sized cases, not the usual DVD size which is a bit odd - really messes up my storage system, and would be worse if I used racks rather than boxes! It's obviously the original packaging, can't imagine why they thought it was a good idea.

later: Figured it out - they're the sets that originally came in high-tech looking plastic outer cases.

In other news, the LP frames I mentioned in a previous post have arrived but turn out to be aluminium-finish plastic, not actual aluminium. If they weren't so cheap I might be a little annoyed... later still make that annoyed with myself, because when I checked the description it's quite clear, it's me that didn't read it!

Also, the vendor has cancelled the sale of Repo Chick - says that when they went to pack it they found it wasn't in usable condition. Annoying, but better than getting it in crap condition then having to try to get a refund. I shall have to look elsewhere... and found it on the That's Entertainment site for £3 new, inc. delivery.
