This Lone Wolf Bundle revives a March 2019 offer featuring The Lone Wolf Adventure Game based on the famous Lone Wolf gamebook series. In early July Lone Wolf Adventure Game publisher Cubicle 7 Entertainment announced that, due to unexpected developments, it would cease publishing the Lone Wolf line. Cubicle 7 has kindly granted one last chance to present this bargain-priced offer.
The bestselling Lone Wolf gamebook series by the late Joe Dever (1956-2016) introduced a generation of British teens to fantasy gaming. Dever's dozens of gamebooks cast readers as Kai Lord warrior-monks defending the world of Magnamund against the Darklords of Helgedad.
The book series spawned a couple of licensed roleplaying games, most recently The Lone Wolf Adventure Game from Cubicle 7 Entertainment. Cubicle 7 funded the game in an August 2014 Kickstarter campaign. Taking the Lone Wolf gamebooks as the inspiration for its system, LWAG is a great introduction to tabletop RPGs. The Initiate-level game keeps the mechanics to a minimum. Task resolution uses a 1d10 roll. A normal success requires 6 or higher; difficult tests require higher numbers. In combat, you roll your Combat Skill minus your opponent's. Experienced players can up the complexity with the Master-level game, which provides a variety of options: a more complex combat system, new character options, and Kai's favor, a currency for helping you succeed at tasks.
This revived March 2019 offer once again presents -- for the final time -- almost the entire Lone Wolf Adventure Game line for an unbeatable bargain price. We provide each ebook complete in .PDF (Portable Document Format). Like all Bundle of Holding titles, these books have NO DRM (Digital Restrictions Management), and our customers are entitled to move them freely among all their devices.
Ten percent of each purchase of this Lone Wolf offer (after gateway fees) goes to the charity chosen by Cubicle 7 Entertainment owner Dominic McDowall, CMRF Crumlin children's hospital in Dublin, Ireland. CMRF (Children's Medical Research Foundation) Crumlin is a pediatric research hospital in Dublin, Ireland. Each year at least 120,000 children attend Crumlin for critical care and support.
The total retail value of the titles in this revival is US$144. Customers who pay just US$14.95 get all four titles in this revived offer's Starter Collection (retail value $69) as DRM-free .PDF ebooks, including the complete full-color Lone Wolf Adventure Game core rulebook, the Heroes of Magnamund Expanded Character Handbook, the full-color bestiary Magnamund Menagerie, and the Narrator's Screen .PDF with useful charts and references.
Those who pay more than this revival's threshold (average) price, which is set at $24.95 to start, also get this offer's entire Bonus Collection with four more titles worth an additional $75, including The Realm of Sommerlund setting book, Bestiary of the Beyond (more monsters), the full-length campaign Terror of the Darklords, and the three-scenario collection Adventures of the Kai.
Last time I said "I'll be honest, I won't be downloading this - I lost interest in this sort of generic fantasy adventure setting many years ago, and was never a huge fan of the gamebooks. Having said that, it's a fairly playable system, presentation is excellent (not surprising considering the publisher), and you get a lot for your money. If this is the sort of thing you're looking for, it's a reasonable deal." I don't see any reason to change this.
