marcus 2013

Oh my god, it's full of pixels....

Just got myself a 17" LCD monitor to replace the old 17" CRT monitor, which has a bad case of jerky picture and I suspect is not worth repairing.

Rapidly discovered that the settings I was using for the old monitor came out as painfully bright on this one, while restoring the graphics card defaults gave me a better picture that I can ever remember seeing on the old display. So much so that I've gone from 1024x768 to 1280x1024.

Not cheap, but definitely worth it. The only problem is that I'm so used to looking at a curved screen that this one looks concave...

The Key to Byzantium - VI

Here's the first draft of the next chunk of The Key to Byzantium. I've actually written rather more with the same setting, but I like ending on a cliffhanger and this seems a good way to do it. Let me know what you think, and tell me about anything else that looks wrong, if there aren't too many problems I'll post to archives tomorrow.
