marcus 2013

Back at work, possibly out of touch.

Back at work as of today. It's likely that I won't be able to go on line during the day for the next couple of weeks, there's a lot of network reorganization going on this holiday, so don't be surprised if emails etc. don't get answered until the evening.

More fiddly little details

Detail from one of the spaceship cabins...

...because some ideas really won't let you ignore them.

And before anyone asks, the heading in the red band is "Elmer Keith Field Tests Three New Phase Plasma rifles!"

Forgotten Futures Charity Update

Forgot to mention that I've handed on another £110 to Cancer Research UK today, taking the total I've given them to £1888. Due to a small error this is actually a few pounds more than I've actually raised for them, but the difference can come from me.

Hopefully if Forgotten Futures X goes well I'll be able to give them another donation before the end of the year.

Also posted to ffutures_news, apologies if you see it twice.

What am I missing?

I've got the ffutures_news blog in windows on my web sites, but with advertising coming to basic accounts I need to look at alternatives. Basically, I want to make an occasional announcement; it would be nice if it looked reasonably good and there was some way to get an RSS feed from it whenever I update it.

I've tried to use RSS Builder to create such a feed but it keeps giving errors when I try to upload it, which makes me think I'm doing something wrong. Should it link to a separate file containing the entries or something?

The simple way to do this would be to link to an insanejournal free account, which for the moment at least doesn't have advertising, but I would really prefer it to be more under my own control if possible.

Any suggestions?

later Sorry, not "in windows" - it's in a frame on the front page.
