marcus 2013

Hello pounding headache....

The Notting Hill Carnival is in full swing and as noisy as ever. I live on the outskirts, and it's got to be past a hundred decibels intermittently, with low-frequency vibrations that set off car alarms and shake the house. The streets here aren't too bad right now, but will be later when people start heading home.

It occurs to me that in four years London will have the Olympics and the Notting Hill Carnival going on pretty close together - I don't think they actually overlap, the games start at the end of July, but I could be wrong on that. It will not be a fun time to actually live in London and have little or no interest in sport or carnivals...

Stanley Weinbaum - The Ideal

I've made a start today on scanning the Stanley Weinbaum stories I'll be including in my next RPG. While quite a few of his best-known stories have been put on line by Gutenberg Australia, and I've been working my way through them and looking for errors, there are some of the more obscure ones that they don't have yet. The first of these is The Ideal

If anyone feels like taking a look and getting back to me if they spot anything wrong I'd be grateful.

Later Added another one, The Planet of Doubt
