As Easy as A.B.C. - Progress!

I'm very glad to say that the volume of The London Magazine containing As Easy as A.B.C. was finally delivered twenty minutes ago - no explanation of why it took so long, and it doesn't appear to have been damaged, opened by customs, lost, or anything like that, so I can only assume that it simply ended up on a ship that took a long time to reach its destination. Hopefully I'll get the illustrations scanned and a revised version of the story on line tonight or tomorrow - I also want to compare the text to see if anything was added or removed, at a first glance I think not.

I'm enormously relieved, and very pleased - I think that this is fairly important for anyone interested in early SF art.

Resisting temptation

I think I may have foolishly said that I was going to lay off buying DVDs for a while, since I seem to have rather a lot I've never watched.

So of course today's walk took me into various charity shops, and rather a lot of temptation. To wit:

Miyazaki's The Castle of Cagliostro on DVD for £2

The two-disk extended laserdisc of Dances With Wolves for £3

And a boxed set of Xena: Warrior Princess - all of Xena: Warrior Princess, six boxed sets with lots of extras in an outer box... for £19.99 - I think this works out at about 40p per DVD since some of the sets run to ten disks. I have no idea when I will get around to watching this, but I think it was pretty good value for money.

Back to resisting temptation. Until the next time, of course...

Later Xena volume 1 part 1 (the only episodes I had) now listed on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131020899969
