Build your own EEG has a project called openEEG which is basically a DIY electroencephalograph. It sounds like the completed unit could be educationally interesting, but I'm not enough of an electronics technician to tell if it would be safe. From the look of the parts list it isn't an easy build and I'm not the best at this sort of thing - my bat detector had to be rebuilt by the company that supplied the PCB - so I'm in two minds about taking a crack at it.

I'm not sure if anyone reading this has the appropriate skills, but if you have I'd be grateful if you could take a look and tell me what you think. And of course if someone feels like taking a crack at it and donating it to a school once you're played with it...
